Its been slow

Moving around here thats for sure. I know I need to get off my butt and exercise but finding the energy is hard. I've thought about going for a physical and checking somethings like iron levels and such to find our why I suddenly lost all my energy (other then the obvious not working out, vicious cycle that one is isnt it? You have no ernergy to work out because you didnt workout to get more energy. sigh.)

Well the weight has been slow moving too. I weighed in this morning at 189.8 The lowest i've been all week, usually hovering from 190-193.

Time to crack down again and lose another ten pounds.

Getting back into the game.

Last week or so I made a post in my facebook fitness group about how I was sabotaging myself....and I knew it. It was time to crack back down. Id been hovering at 198-199 for a few weeks. So after cracking down on the tracking..going back to eating chicken everday for lunch...and keeping myself accountable I stepped on the scale today at 191.2!! I surpassed my 195 goal so now the next one is 190!

I use myfitnesspal to track calories (Add me S/N MrsKearns!) and I do a bootcamp 3 times a week with a workout video from netflix (or I youtube the first level of 30DS) or a run on my days "off" 

I will be running my first 5k in a few short weeks. EEK :)

Ill add some pictures soon. I only took semi naked before pictures so im going to try and track some better ones down so I dont have to bare all to the interwebs. ;)

Update. Morning weigh in.

UPDATE: AS of saturday morning (JUNE 2nd) I weighed in at 198.0!! I dont usually get to weigh myself in the mornings (I usually weigh in around 6pm due to work schedules) so I had to see what it'd say. Im Pretty pleased. Now onto 195!

boot camp

Bootcamp has started. Day 1 and 2 of 30 are in the books.

and

I HATE it.





While im doing it....afterwards its actually pretty fun.



The first day(tuesday) was about 10 min warm up, first 25 minutes lifting 3lb weights, then 25 minutes of things I cant even begin to name (like step ups on the bleachers (effing hard!) or the thing where you run across a field sideways, (and keep in mind we're holding 3lbs weights for all of these...and when we run) or do ten push ups and run the length of the field then 9 push ups and repeat and then 8 push ups and repeat) then a 10 minute cool down/stretching/ab work....so yea. I die. I cant believe im paying someone to kill me like this. I spent all of high school AVOIDING this stuff in gym class. Total 180 for me.


The second day (wednesday, today!) was a warm up, then we jogged down this big hill and did 5 excercises (all while holding those weights!) and then ran back up the hill, did 5 more, jogged some then ran down this HUGE sledding hill, did 5 more and then ran UP the HUGE sledding hill and jogged back to the feild to do 5 more excercises. Then I left because it was 7am and I had to get home so hubby could go to work so I missed the cool down/stretching.

Friday is when they will be introducing the nutrition part of this...which is optional but advised for best results. Im interested to see what this entails and I hope to follow it as well.

Im really not as sore as I thought i'd be but we'll see how I feel in the morning. :) Im sticking this out because I REALLY want the results. This summer is all about getting **strong**<--my muscles LOL

30 down!

Well yesterday was a exciting day. Not only did I receive a call back about a possible second job that I could work around my current job, and my hubby got some good news concerning his job, and was able to stay late last night for some over time (and brought the pay home that night even!) but I also weighed in at 200.0!!!

I am officially 30lbs lighter.

30lbs are officially GONE and not invited back EVER.

So to sum it all up :::       I was 230 as of january 1st 2012
                                         im now 200
                                         and my goal is 165..35 lbs to go!<<I love seeing that number get smaller.

Vacation struggles

Vacation was a struggle...or should I say getting back into my eating routine has been.

You see when we eat out I dont like wasting food (where as at home I can put it in the fridge for later) so while we were out and about site seeing and eating junk fast food I always clean my plate(or basket or whatever). So now that we're back from vacation Ive been finding it hard to stop that. I use a small plate at dinner so I dont take too much, but if something is sitting right in front of me I have NO self control. Im working on it though. :)


Also I weighed myself this morning because I was feeling pretty good and I weighed in at 203!! Down 27lbs total! WAHOO! Only 4 more to go until next goal of under 200!

Down, Down, down.

Wow so its been a while. Im proud to say I reached my next goal of 25lbs down. I weighed in at 205 on May 2nd. Then my hubby and I went to st louis for our anniversary (which isnt until July) and I brought back 2lbs with me. So as of TODAY I weigh in at 205.8

So SW: 230

Next goal: 199! I cant wait to be under 200lbs

*Ps My running class ended so I'll be doing a post with my measurements soon. One week off of classes and then bootcamp starts. I signed up for 3 days a week. Im going to do tuesday, wednesday and friday since the days I work (tues&wed) are the hardest days for me to find time to work out on my own, and fridays "fun day" so I dont want to miss that ;)

Week four down!

So its time for a update. I just finished week four of my running class. Its definitely getting easier but we also go longer so I still have to push myself. Breathing is my biggest obstacle and once I get that under control I'm good to go. I am really slow though. I swear I repeat "a 12 minute mile and 10 minute mile is still a mile" a million times but I really try to pace myself.

I've gone out on a few runs on my own for my homework or just because and they've gone really well but I do like being in class more. The other people motivate me. Which is why I signed up for a ten week body challenge for the summer its 5 days a week for the whole summer. Its definitely going to be a challenge but I know it will be worth it in the end. THIS is the summer it happens. This year for Halloween ill be wearing a sexy costume ;)

So here are this weeks results.

CW 211.8!!

Im 18lbs down, only 2 more until im 20lbs down which is my next mini goal. It feels GREAT! I know the next twenty will really make a difference for OTHER people to start noticing.

Running class

Ok so I survived week one of my running class.


Tuesday monring at 5:30 I woke up and got my new running clothes on and my shoes laced up, grabbed my water and went out the door. Then I got hit with how freakin cold it was! With the weather being so nice I definitly was not expecting that. It also definitly made it less enjoyable. I was cussing myself out for starting this while I was running lol

Day one was 2 minutes walking followed by 2 minutes jogging. Repeated for 30 minutes. It came out to 2.25 Miles. I am a mouth breather, and the SO very cold air was making it very dificult for me to breathe but I made it.

Afterwards I was SOO happy and felt so accomplished. I was so glad that I didnt have to worko out again becuase it was already out of the way. I had planned to go home and be all full of energy and then when I got home I was still so cold that I crawled back into bed and fell back asleep! lol

Day two-Thursday was so much better. It was warmer, and I could breathe better. This day we did the same thing but with 3 minute jogs instead. I didnt feel like I was killing myself, and it was more light out then on tuesday so I really enjoyed myself. And I was able to go home and stay awake lol I went and grabbed little man and we went on a three mile walk!! (we went to a resturaunt for breakfast and then walked home, it was three miles total! I mapped it out on mapmyrun.com, so useful!)

 I also get homework. I have to do a walk/jog alternating every two minutes for 40 minutes total, and also go on a walk two other days and leave one rest day. So today is my rest day(getting my toes done today =)) and tomorrow im going to do my run then on sunday and monday me and ryelin will make sure to take a walk.
Also I took all my measurments on monday, and im super excited to see what they are at the end of this.

So so far so good. One week down, only 9 more to go.

I weighed in on wednesday at 217. Not a great loss but not a gain so thats good. My running class starts on tuesday so as of next week my work out schedule will be:
Monday- 1 hour zumba
Tuesday- running class
thursday- running class
One run "homework" session over the weekend.

Im really excited to take my measurments on monday and see what results I can get out of this class.

Its a 10 week running session for beginners. It teaches you HOW to run and by the end of the ten weeks the goal is to be able to run for a half hour comfortably. Im SO excited. Two of my friends are doing it with me and I know that the early morning excercises will suck at 6am but at 7am ill be really happy its done for the day.

wahoo

Ok so I thought I was coming on here to tell you that I didn't make my goal of ten pounds lost, because when I weighed myself yesterday I was actually up a few ozs, but then I thought- maybe ill go weigh myself again since im here (I do not own a scale, I only weigh myself at work) so I did and WAHOO 218.4!!!  SUPER HAPPY!

My newest cardio exercise....picking up some hand weights and turning up the music and dancing like a fool with my little man. My favorite exercise yet ;)

Thats what stands between me and a ten pound weight loss milestone.

As long as I stay on goal for this week I should hit it by next weigh in! Super excited!!

We had the flu in the house since friday (little man was the only one sick) so I missed 2 zumbas and havent done anything at home except some light cardio one day and some light weight lifting one day..nothing really. I also did have some valentines treats but I kept myself accountable and really practiced control. I also got my monthly visitor 3 days ago (4 days early! how unfair!) so I wasnt really looking forward to weighing in, but im so happy to see a loss.

Goals for next week.

I weighed in on tuesday at 221.8. I am SO close to ten pounds down! I need to step it up on the work outs though, I can feel myself losing motivation. Im itching for it to warm up outside so we can start walking, and im going to buy a jogging stroller so I can try out the couch to 5K program. I'd love to participate in the color fun run in MN in July. Our 2nd anniversary is that week and it would be a hell of a good way to celebrate another year down and a new year with my best friend.

Yesterday I was proud of myself. Me and little man went grocery shopping and we spent more time in the produce section then any other section. We also didnt even GO down the processed food aisles. Made it out of the store for 80 dollars and other then some more meat and the gallon of milk I forgot we should be good for a couple weeks.

I feel like im making the right steps. I have made a drastic change in my eating habits, I just need to keep them that way. And im working out which i've never done before. I need to work out more then just one hour twice a week though so thats my goal for this next week.

1st Weeks goal:(starting tuesday the 14th  since thats my next "weigh in day")
Do cardio and/or weights for 20+ mins at least every other day
Reach the 10lb weight loss mark. Thats 1.8lbs from tuesday the 7ths weight.

Zumba

Another thing that really sparked this interest in being healthy is Zumba.
I had read that there was a class starting in my little town and I was interested. So I asked a friend if she wanted to check it out, and so we did. And I LOVE it. It gets me moving and while it is hard, it feels SO good when its done.

Its 1 hour, twice a week and because of that I wanted to eat healthier because I didnt want the zumba to be cancelled out by junk food. Then I was feeling lazy on the days I didnt have zumba so I looked into other ways to workout. Im kinda addicted now. :) I do Netflix work out videos, The wii active, internet work out videos, long walks, im hoping to get a jogging stroller so I can start couch to 5k, and Im going to pick up a jump rope when the snow melts so I can do that while little man plays outside this summer.

If you would have told me even 2 months ago that I would actually enjoy working out, I would have laughed in your face. But I really am, and thats how I know this time is differnt. I WANT to do it. I WANT to feel my muscles burn, I WANT to be out of breath, I WANT to see definition in my legs/arms rather then jiggle.  And Zumba is SO much fun!

Weigh Down Under

200lbs that is. Right now my weight has reached an all time high. 

Some background. I've always thought I was fat. Until about 11th grade when I finally got comfortable in my skin, I wasn't wearing bikinis or showing off my body but I realized I'm wearing the same size as all my friends so there was really nothing to fret over...

Flash forward. I graduate at 17, move in with my then boyfriend, we get engaged and then a few years later married, and then right away had a baby. I was very sick during my pregnancy and only gained about 20lbs. I came home from the hospital 3lbs under my pre pregnancy weight of 175.

Life got extremely busy, we had our son in the middle of the holiday season. Then we had a super busy summer and when the holidays and his birthday party were over, I was looking at photos and I HATED them. Over the past year I have gained 55 POUNDS! I look horrible. I have a double chin, fat arms and huge thighs (and thats not even mentioning the gut) ugh!

So it was time for a change... a BIG change. And for the first time in my life I want, I want it so bad I can taste it. I think about it non stop. I feel like its so doable, that everything just clicked. I want to tell everyone about all the hard work I'm doing for myself, but I know no one IRL really cares :) So I started this blog. I hope you'll enjoy following my journey and please, reach out to me so we can support each other on this extremely hard, but so SO worth while journey.
